Default HID headlight shutting off....

My bro recently changed his 06 GS300 headlight bulbs to 6000k along with getting 6000k hid fog lights. but he seems to keep having problems with one of the headlight bulbs always shutting off. he brought it back to the shop where he had bought & installed them, the owner changed to another pair of the same bulbs and he is still having the same issue. he keeps having to turn them on & off a few times for them to stay on. i think they may be using bad bulbs or some mentioned something about resistors or capicitors, but i thought that would only be needed if the whole hid kit was changed, not just the bulb.

I've been having the same problem with a garax replacement bulb. 2 now have been burned out. Been using the stock bulb which works perfectly fine on my right hand assembly. The manufacturer said the first bulb I sent back was in perfect working order. I plan on swapping the aftermarket bulb that has been working for 2 months now from my left to my right today to see if the problem continues.

I think I got the same problem as you, same car too. The bulb is new and when restarting the bulb stay on, but sometime it just didn't turn on or idk... it doesn't happen all the time though.

So i took the functioning 6k garax bulb out of my LH and put in the RH. Runs with no problems, so far.

Took the garax bulb that I originally thought was faulty in the RH side and put it in the LH side.

So...hopefully everything will be fine. Unfortunatley since i've been using the other bulb for nearly 2 months, the shades of blue are not spot on. Hopefully in time it'll even out.

I don't think Garax are as good as many tout them to be. Try picking up a set of a different brand.
