Since so many people have been asking me on how to change all these bulbs on CL and seeing many have confused DRL with Parking lights (aka driving lights, city lights). With a little incentive, I've put together this general guides with pictures and to review the new Xenondepot 360 degree 194 LED!!

Reminding you to always wear gloves when handling bulbs, oil from finger can cause damage to the bulbs especially the HID!

Start:


Step 1
pop the hood and remove the engine cover clips, press down on the middle of the clips and just pull the plastic covers away, clips will come out with it

Step 2
I started with the passenger side, locate the plastic stick holding the parking light bulb as circled below, just turn the stick a bit and you will be able to pull it away



this is the one from the driver side, you might want to remove the single bolt that holds the windshield cleaner reservoir to give you more clearance, for HID bulbs change later too!


wiggle it out so you have access to the bulbs (again, this is the tiny bulb that lights up when your low beam is on, this is NOT the DRL)


Here comes the new 360 degree LED from Xenon Depot!


removed from package, you can really tell from the package that this will be different than the other LED sellers that always ship these in little zip lock bag


these are huge! but the output is amazing so the increase is size is expected but makes the installation just a tab bit more difficult


Step 3
This step is ONLY necessary because this LED is extra long, otherwise, you don't need to do this for smaller leds/bulbs

remove the 3 circled bolts to the airbox so it gives you a few more mm clearance to put the stick back into the socket.


put the new LED in, because of the electrical polarity of LED, these can only be installed in ONE direction, so make sure you turn on the lights to test it before you put the stick back in!


Voila! don't be sad if they don't light up! just pull it out, turn it, the put it in!

Step 4
reverse the procedure, put it back in and turn it how to see how it reflects within the housing, please note the LED is a bit whiter in person, as for all digital photography, white is a hard color to capture, I've tested the white balance and these came out the closest

this set is REALLY bright, the 360 degree of LED really lights up the housing well

These are the other ones I've tested for everyone's reference.

Osram Cool Blue W5W - Free from Powerbulbs.com w/ purchase
What I've decided to use currently, the color is whiter than stock and just flows better with my 6000k low beam IMO



Autolumination - 194 Oval Leds Bulbs - $2.49 each, I bought the cheapest one on there to test the color



On with my xenondepot 6000k D4S - probably works better with 8000k

unfortunately, due to the design of the high beam reflector housing, the inverted LED don't seem to work too well, however, these will probably work much better for interior LED

Conclusion
Phew! that took me a while to post, as you can see, this is simply the brightest and whitest out of 5 others I've tested (I didn't take pictures for some)

Going to leave it in for few weeks and see if I like the color combination, I tend to go for a bit of contrast but this will definitely attract more looks on the street

Thanks for the work you put into taking all of those photos.

It's too bad that there doesn't seem to be any decent fogs that don't require a whole HID conversion that will match better, or is there? I really don't care to put HID in my fogs I just want them to match if I were to change my parking lights out.

no, high beam bulb remains stock and untouched

the bluish light source is from the LED, not the high beam bulb

I see, so these wont melt right? or is it when people are replacing the fogs to hid? lol forgot

lol, the only time I've seen "stuff" melted was seeing people increasing the wattage on the fog light

35W HID to 55W that melted the housing or 60W halogen bulbs to 100W

these LED have life time warranty, so i am not really concerned of it breaking down or melting.

thx for posting pics and instructions! quick question: how is the matchup with the 360 degree Xenon Depot parking lights (not DRL) to stock HID headlight? Too bright? I don't plan on getting 6K HID low beams. If the 360 degree is too bright to match stock HID headlamps, what do you recommend? Thx!
