Default OEM Turn Signal Mirror fitment on 06s.

Has anyone successfully fitted, and wired an OEM Turn Signal Mirror (2008-09) on an 06 GS? Is this a straightforward plug and play swap?
I know there is the aftermarket LED mirror cover version, im just wondering if someone went on to do the OEM mirror swap.

Here is a link with a pic of one.....but no one here has tried this and discussed it, I am pretty sure it is going to bolt on perfectly, however I am willing to bet the connector for the mirror will have a different plug with 2 extra wires and wont simply plug into the mirror ecu's in the doors....

Any progress on this thread?? For $265 painted seems like a good deal from Nigel, however, Pembroke Pines Lexus has these for $330ea New for the entire assembly prepainted!

If you purchase a new set, and sell the old ones for approx. $150ea on eBay ... there's really only a $100 premium you would pay to have a set of '08-'10 OEM Mirror Assmblies, and IMO the 08+ OEM Mirrors w/ Signal look 1000% better than these mirror covers!

330 each for factory oem 08+ side mirrors with turn signals? somehow that sounds too good to be true

Great deal if true, I would be all over it if they had crystal white but since that does not exist in 08 models, they probably dont...
BTW they will surely bolt right on...wiring I dont know about. If they are local go take a pic of the connections and post them here and well let you know

Hey Rudy,

I did a little research on techinfo.toyota.com ... got the EWDs for the 2007 & the 2010. It is confirmed that these vehicles both use the z6 (LH) and z5 (RH) connectors to connect the Outside Rear View Mirrors to the Door ECU.
This difference between the two years is that pins 8 and 16 carry the turn signal. These two pins are left empty on the 2006-07.

I think I am going to order these and be the guinea pig, since Smokey Granite Mica (1G0) Paint Color is available on the 07-10 GS, should match no problem.

Are you absolutely sure that these will definately bolt on ... no problem?

I am only concerned beacuse:

I actually did this similar mod on my '05 Acura TL to the '07+ TL Turn Signal mirrors, while the connectors were the same, the holes in the door actually had to be enlarged, since the binding posts on the '07+ mirror were larger in diameter than the '04-'06! ... not a big deal ... nothing a drill bit couldn't fix, I just don't want to buy $700 non-returnable mirrors to find that I can't use them!

not bad for $660

might as well keep the old mirrors in case the plastic gears break.

Did a little bit more research .... although that Pembroke Pines Lexus Lists the mirror assembly for $330 ... it isn't a true assembly (doesn't include the mirror) ... I checked with a West Coast Lexus dealer, who was kind enough to provide me with 1 part number (RH) (87910-30A70-B1) ... it appears that the TRUE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY lists for $750.72... Pembroke Discount brings the price down to: $528.06each.

This is a bit more than anticipated ... I think I still may do the mod. I am going to call both Pembroke Pines & Sewell Lexus tomorrow to see if we could get better pricing.

Especially Pembroke Pines, as they list the assembly for $330 ... their description is totally incorrect.

Wow great info oyster! I'm in the same boat as you. I have a chance to buy a pair of 08s mirrors . thanks for the info. I wonder if the 06-07 harness coming from the car has the wires going to it and all you to do is pin the positive and negative.

meaning what?

fitment, shape, design?

2006-2007 are the same (no turn signal)
2008-2010 are the same (has turn signal)

According to my above research, the mirror will plug into the existing harness, everything except the turn signal will work without any modification ... you will need to run two wires through the boot in the door and tap into the turn signal. this can be tapped at a few different locations, all of which are accessible from the wiring diagram.

Very good news about the connectors....I am not sure about the fit on the door but logic tells me that it should bolt right on without mods. Now here is a thought....you mentioned the connector on the 06 mirror has no wires at the 2 positions.....what about the mirror ecu....could it have those pins already there ?? they just were not utilized ?? hmm
