Ok, I swear i searched this topic and i found related threads, but i didn't get a definite answer, so here i am askin' it

I just bought a GS 300 2006 about a month ago, and i was surprised that a 2006 Lexus Fully loaded with ML system and navigation CANNOT play an MP3 CD let alone a DVD MP3.

is it me or they all like that. I tried a CD and DVD MP3's but nothing.

The only thing playing is an audio CD.

If this is the Case, is there a way to be able to play an MP3 CD (DVD would be nice too, but i doubt it) even if i have to buy an extra CD Changer in the trunk( or elsewhere)

This is a BIG issue to me, SO please let me know if i missed a thread that talks about it.

I hope i get an answer with "yes you can"

No you can't.

MP3/WMA CD's only play on the 2007 models with the updated ML system. DVD only works if you have the Gen 5 Nav in the 2007 models. You'll need a third party solution.

how do i know what Gen version i have

and what's the 3rd party solution i could use

5th GEN is 2007.

As for products check out http://www.vaistech.com/. It won't allow you to play MP3 CDs or DVDs but it will allow you to hook up a MP3 player or iPod. The only way you will be able to play MP3s directly from CD is by replacing the radio itself.

i have 2007 Navi w/o ML and it plays MP3 and WMA CDs, I don't know about DVDs. I doubt it.
