I have a 2003 GS300, and all the other navi functions work fine. When I enter a destination into the navi, when I should hear a voice giving turn by turn directions, all I hear is the driver's seat speakers mute out from the music I am listening to, but no voice is there. I have checked the volume level in the system and it changes nothing at all levels. Anyone experience anything like this before?

Just to be clear on the volume you looked at, you did go into the navigation volume setting and turn it up? My system will be have the same way if I have the navi volume set to low/off, so just checking.

 

Yea as said, check your settings. The voice is probably set on low/off. If you dont want the voice, then you have to turn the 'guidance' feature off and that will eliminate the mute function as well.

 

Yes, I adjusted the navi volume, even to the point of putting it at 7, which was the highest number. I just can't understand why I cant hear a voice, but the speakers mute out for the period of time that the voice should be speaking.
