Default Update

The cog pulley set up wasn't a good choice after all. It came with the s/c kit that Thomas purchased a year ago. I thought I would give it a try. As you can see the belt didn't last too long after some 4.5k rpm pulls on the dynojet. RMM come kit with two aluminum bushings, I don't believe the were stable at 10 psi. We fab up two different bushings to support the main bracket.
I called Vortech told them the problem that we are having. After talking to them for a while, they would try to sell me a $170 cogged belt and other pullies. NO Thank you .... I strongly believe it's not the drive problem. The s/c belt configuration is very poor, There isn't enough contact to the s/c pulley.
What is the solution? We are going back to the 6 grooves belt and add an idler pulley to get more contact surface. Vortech superchager hole would to modify and tap. Supercharger drivebelt tensioner bracket would need to modify and move a little bit further to the left. We had a hard time finding the idle pulley but my buddy actually have one in stock. I will take all the measurements tomorrow.

Without the idler pulley

This is the first tensioner pulley that we tried. It's the exact size that we need but it's rated at 2k rpm lol. BTW, that wasn't my hand

This is the pulley that we would use. It's rate at 9k rpm and designed for s/c kit. If you look closely to belt, they are very close to each other but this is just a mock up. The cogged pulley is coming off, We left it on for some testing and measurement purpose.

Take a look at the old drivebelt configuration. Big improvement.

Well the new pulley configure did the trick. The tensioner pulley keep the belt from slipping. We had to remove that compressor housing a couple of times to get it in a perfect spot. The bracket would have to machine out and move s/c pulley tensioner bracket a little further to the left.

Thomas sent us the meth injection kit to install. We still retain the factory windshield washer resevior to hold meth/water.

Mounting the pump is a little tricky. We fab up a bracket for the pump to sit below that stock reservoir but it didn't look right. Ended up mouting it to the lower radiator support bar.

Meth/Water injection nozzle.

A closer look at the nozzle

Controller box. The design is very simple. Set the boost level where you want the pump start to kick on and boost level when pump is operating at 100%.

This LED would let you know when the pump is activated.

Just like stock .
We are getting some methanol tomorrow. It's time to go back on the dyno for tuning.

The pump does sit a little bit too low. Time for a new bracket

Well I have some bad news. We don't have any duct tape so We would have to use something else to hold the pump together .

I need to get a 90 degree fitting so the hose doesn't look funny pointing down.

If you mounted it straight it would hit the coolant temp sensor. I did my homework.
