GSF Has Power But Won't Start

Hello,
My 2016 GSF has power but tbe engine will not start. All the lights come on and the engine just clicks. I changed out the battery to make sure that wasn't the issue. My next step was to replace the ignition relay but wanted to see if anyone has any ideas before I did that.

Appreciate any help!

One click or a series of clicks?

Just tried again and there's no clicks. It just powers on and does nothing. I just hear the noises of electronics.

When it was clicking was it one or a series of clicks? does the green light come on in your start button when you step on the brake with the ignition on?

It was a series of clicks. The green light doesn't come on in the start button when I step on the Brake with the ignition.

A series of clicks is usually low battery voltage, did you buy a new battery or just try a different one?

Khun89 Dec 30, 2022 07:37 PM

I bought a new one.

Does the push start turn green when you hold the lexus symbol on your fob close to it with your foot on the brake?

Khun89 Dec 30, 2022 08:24 PM

So just hold the fob close to the push start while pushing the button and the brake?

Gerf Dec 30, 2022 08:50 PM

No, that's only going to tell you something if the fob battery is dead or very low, you don't have any problems with the locks or the ignition turning on right?

Did you have any other problems before the clicking started? do you have any way to see if codes are present?

Check your battery ground wire to make sure it hasn’t come loose - at the battery and trace it back to the body. Have the new battery tested as well. Some have failed out of the box before.

When I turn the power on things kind of go haywire. The lights start flickering and the electronics don't work properly and random stuff flashes on the dashboard. I don't hear any clicking now but just electronics trying to work. I tried to pull codes and the only thing it's giving me is 1l.

The ground wire appears to be tight and in good shape. I'll have the new battery tested as well.

That sure sounds like a battery issue to me.

This could possibly be an animal or some kind of rodent chewing up electrical wires (wire harness). The problems you are describing are very similar. Any chance this could be true?
