Default Motor Mount upgrade

Anybody changed their motor mounts to Figs or RR Racing? Any thoughts on which is better?

seems like a popular upgrade while doing headers at the same time, either one is a very reputable brand, unless your car is high mileage and stock mounts are worn I would hold off.

I wouldn't call either an upgrade. I'd call them different. There's a whole thread on the RR Racing solid engine mounts in the IS F forum, and it definitely impacts NVH noticeably. I am replacing my engine mounts with new OEM in my IS F. I don't want other expensive parts breaking as a result of allowing the vibration to flex something other than engine mounts. YMMV.

I have the RR racing one for GS-F. I may have really numb butt/fingers, but even right after the swap, I felt maybe 5-10% more harshness and that's if I really try to feel it. I have it on for 2 month already and I don't notice it at all now. Also to add my wife sometime haul the baby using the GS-F, she didn't even notice i changed the motor mount.

Truth be hold I was actually a bit disappointed, I wanted to feel more of the drivetrain.

Yep, I'll be doing them with my headers at some point.

The figs look closer to oem than the RRs. Reading the thread, everyone seemed to be happy with the upgrade. Have you seen/heard of instances where they caused an issue?

I haven’t heard if any issues. It seems like the RR Racing mounts are pretty much a requirement of you do headers due to the heat. They have a lot of extra heat shielding.

Whole thread on Figs: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ne-mounts.html

Lots of discussion pro and con. One member had an issue with the Figs mount and there is considerable back and forth about that.
