Default Lousy 1/4 mile time?

So I managed to his the strip a few nights ago, and the best time I managed was 13.04

My tyres are not in a great shape and it's been 2 years since getting them, I basically ran straight up, no burnout at all. Traction off ( press and hold for 5 secs ), throttle brakes up to 1500 and took off.

No wheel spin so that was good, I think the track prep guys did a great job.

Ambient air temp was around 57F and we are at sea level so conditions were definitely favorable.

Just couldn't break into the 12's

Not bad run though. I never brought mine to drag strip. I should do it one day for fun.

Our cars runs 12.9 right? Maybe you can break 12's with newer and stickier tires with some burn outs.

Probably with new set of performance tires and warming the tires you'll break into the 12s.

Other than the infotainment system, that's my only other gripe about the GS F...no launch control and I wish it was easier to do burnouts.

Not a hater, I also have an RC350, so part of the Lexus fam.

Forced induction engines are typically faster than normal aspiration engines. But, there’s something about that V8!

ha ha!

Believe it or not that's about normal. Actually, you ran faster than I did when I tested mine stock. You were on street tires. Post the time slip. What was your 60ft? What track was this?
Oh, press and hold 5 seconds does not "truly" release the traction control. (need to do the pedal dance to remove)
Time to add that RR Racing S/C

I have both in the family as well,
if only bmw can make a gasket, rubber seal, and not leak
or a turbo line without recalls
all would be good

Hey I was expecting this type of response.

Not saying you're wrong, but I had a 135i and 335i prior, and the the 135i's N54 engine did have a fuel pump failure, but once replaced under recall there were 0 problems. The 335i had no issues as well. Hoping the M340i will continue that trend. Not trying to get this thread off topic.

Post in this thread!! https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...s-in-here.html

What mode were you in? Also, if you have the stock PSS tires, doing a burnout makes little difference and probably makes them more slick.

best I ran was 12.9 @113mph.

I was actually having this conversation with one of my friend, when I bought the ISF in 2008, it was just as fast as the m3, and not much slower than the c63. Plus every year Lexus updated the ISF, I think till 2014 they fine tuned the suspension so it's just as good as the m3. Now m2, m3, m5, m8 and even the 5 series is faster than any car Lexus makes.I just wish the F cars were little faster, maybe in low 12s without breaking a sweat. Lexus seriously need to step up, remember when the gs400 came out? it was one of the fastest 4 door car. Sorry not trying to hijack the thread ..
