Default Time for new brake pads!

Hi everyone

Time to replace my brake pads, need your opinions on which ones to go for based on your experiences.
Basically, I drive like a grandma, so dust and noise is priority for me.

Thanks in advance guys!

Installed the pads. I also needed to have my rotors faced just a little as per my mechanic's recommendation.
Initial impressions after driving for a couple of days?

Initial bite is great, however.. pedal pressure after that is greater than OEM. I feel more effort is needed to stop the car after the initial stomp.
Will that improve after the pads have been bedded in?

Never turn a rotor. It's a bad idea. If the rotor is damaged, get a new one. If it is still within service limits, install new pads and drive the car. Turning creates more problems than it solves.

The local Lexus dealer has been doing that for years.
I can't argue with them.

They installed them for me.

Can you detail the potential problems created from resurfacing rotors?

Resurfacing a rotor creates a spiral groove like a vinyl record from edge to root. You can mitigate this by using a garnet sanding disc to try and break up the groove, but the pad will want to climb against the rotor because this groove forces it to move up or down until the pad snaps back to the top from too much force in the other direction.

^^^^Not to mention grinding off material, thereby lessening its life.

OK guys thank you so much for the insight.
Lesson learned.

Guess I will start saving up now and get ready for my next rotor change. Hopefully, with my grandma style of driving, these pads and rotors should keep me going for another 20k or so miles?
