Default Possible Purchase Tomorrow!

I am heading over to Lexus of Towson tomorrow morning to look at a ‘17 GS-F in one of my favorite color combos. What do you guys think? I have attached the link below. Note: carfax shows an engine replacement. Salesman said the crank needed to be replaced but was really backordered so Lexus just replaced the whole engine. Also, it has been up for sale for 6+ months which is surprising. I appreciate any input! Thanks

Ummm, for $1,300 more get the silver one with half the miles and a clean carfax. The car your considering has a had a lot of work done (shocks and engine) for such low miles; seems odd IMO. The fact that the silver one is available would make this an easy decision for me. Good luck!

My thoughts exactly. Seems sketchy for the amount of work done on the car. If it was another 30% off then I would consider.

Personally, it wouldn’t bother me. An engine being replaced doesn’t really seem like a tarnished Carfax to me. As long as the engine was replaced professionally and was new straight from Lexus, what’s the issue?

Wouldn’t touch it. First off it seems like it had been serviced right before the engine failed, which leads me to believe that someone forgot to put the oil back in. Second front bearings failinat that low of miles? Seems again to indicate the potential for abuse... no thanks. And YES, a new engine at that age would take a value hit, just look at how many of us are saying NO GO!

Just buy it and then tell us what goes wrong. It’s more interesting than buying a mint car where nothing goes wrong.

I have seen this car in person. Shows signs of abuse, and to be honest, I have not even seen the Engine Replacement, neither did the dealer REVEAL that, at all. The front carbon fiber spliter has major scratches ($3000 to replace), front driver wheel has damage. Not worth the price they want.
