16 vs 17 vs 18... GSF
#16
I considered trading my 16 for a 17 or 18. I drove the 17 and felt that it does not feel the same. It's softer feeling. More Lexus feeling. The 16 suspension is so dialed in and it has a more mechanical feel to it. More analog. So I'm buying out my 16 and keeping it. I love it! Mine does have heads up display.

I regret to get a 17. 16 with sachs shocks should be much better. I think my old 2007 G35S with 1.5 years old PSS10 is better than 17 GSF... (more stable and more confident)
Two options:
1. Buy 16's sachs shocks and install in my 17
2. Buy Ohlins coilover
Haven't decided it yet...

If you check Lexus OEM part web site, actually 16's sachs shocks are more expensive than 17's...
In my experience (52 year old now), I always prefer shocks from Europe. They always improve many my Nissans/Hondas and open to a very different world.

AVS is supposed to give you more comfort in normal mode and more support in sport mode. I did drive 16 and 17 and didn't feel too much difference. I think it's more on the firmer side so if you prefer your car to be firmer in sport, you probably want to go with 17. I have a 16 and it's definitely not uncomfortable, but it's not as comfortable and as steady as cars like A6 etc. So if you drive both cars on the same road, GSF will be bumpier.

17's have variable suspension so its probably better on the track. The 18's have the lifetime subscription to the enform thing but other than that there is no difference between the 17's and 18's.
Get the 17 with rebates since there is no difference in performance whatsoever. The 16 doesn't have the variable suspension. But if you don't care about the variable then get the 16 since I'm sure you could get it slightly cheaper.
I got my 17 for 70k before taxes etc brand new.

Drove both, 2016 feels much rigid and right balance without too harsh or soft.

How much for keeping the 16?

How much are you offering to purchase your leased GSF? Or what is the dealership offering for the sale and the difference, if any, with the residual value.
BTW, I prefer the fixed Sachs shocks over the variable ones in the 17-19 models as it is more simple in cost and maintenance, especially when you plan to keep it for a very long time. The vehicle is a very fast handler for long trips and easy to drive.
