Default Possibly buying GSF

Was at Lexus dealer yesterday and was in finance and backed out after seeing interest rate. That and I needed more time to research. So if anyone could help me, would be much appreciated!

2017 Ultrasonic Blue GS F with: heads up display, orange calipers, mark levinson sound and MSRP was 89,000.

They applied the 7000 rebate and I got another $1000 for being military. They also gave me another 13,000 off after telling them what I was comfortable paying monthly, so the cost of the car was 68,000 before taxes, title, etc.. Honestly, I was surprised at how little effort I put in the get them to 68k so I was skeptical at first.

Is this an excellent deal? This car is a demo though.. It has 5,000 miles....

I kinda backed out because the interest rate they were giving me was 3.9% so I thought that was high despite having a 760 credit score.

Should I seal the deal or look elsewhere?

Edit: Monthly payment was $1168 with only $1k down.

I'd say it was a good deal if it was a new 2017. However, it was a demo, and has 5k on it. You should be able to (if you don't mind traveling to the car) find 2016's with that kind of mileage or less going for the low 60's. You should be able to find ones with less than 10k miles going in the upper 50's.

Is the Demo car titled or is it "new"? Interest rate does see kinda high even if you were to go 72 months as a new car, so you may want to shop around independently with preapproval. If it was used, rates will generally be a little higher.

I would honestly recommend that you look for a low mileage 2016. HUD is standard on all GSFs. Orange Calipers, and ML sound are add-ons that you'd honestly have a harder time finding a GSF without them than with. The only difference between 16 and 17 is the adaptive dampers, which the value and necessity of that is in the eye of the beholder.

Check a credit union. https://www.penfed.org/auto/new-auto-loans

PenFed is at 3.24% for 72 months. Rates have gone up a bit lately.

by showing them things like penfed you can get lexus to come down on the interest rate a little. They tried to give my mom like 3.75% on her LC. I showed them I could just go to pen fed and get 2.99% for 60m. They came down to 3.19% with only amounted to $400 extra over the 5 years so we just stuck with that

Its not the interest rate that really bothers me, its the mileage on the car already!

But given that it has never been titled, I would be the first owner.

They just called me and said that they were able to get me to 1.9% and they lowered the car's price to $67k. Not sure if this is a good deal or not!??

You know, it might not be the best deal you could possibly make, but it's a decent price. If this is the color and option package that you really like (it would be my choice - I love USB), and you plan to keep the car for a long time, then I would go for it.

It doesn't sound like a bad deal at all for a 2017 as long as the engine isn't burning oil like one of the RC Fs on the forum. Sometimes demo cars sit and idle for extended periods when they have not been fully broken in and glaze the cylinder walls leading to low power, excessive oil consumption, and a whole lot less happy for your money.

We got our '16 for just a little less, but it only had 68 miles on it when delivered, and 20 of those were my test drive. I am totally on the fence about the "adaptive suspension" unless it is the magnehelic by GM.

Its definitely not a bad deal. What color is your interior?

I got a 2016 in USB 2.0/ Circut Red Interior which is a rare combo. ML, HUD and Orange Calipers for 67k, but my car had only 137 miles on it at pickup so it was a pretty amazing deal. For the mileage currently on yours, I definitely think you could wait a little and get another 4-5k off. maybe even push it to 60k. Perhaps wait until december to remember which begins mid November and see if they're willing to drop the price.

Just realized that the difference between the 2018MY and 2016-2017MY GSF is the addition of improved features for Lexus Safety System+, which includes All-Speed DRCC and Lane Keep Assist rather than just High-Speed DRCC (doesn't work below 30mph) and Lane Departure Alert (no lane centering while on the highway). Just in case these features are important to you...

Weird that Lexus had a different safety package for the GSF than the lesser GS models in the lineup.

Yeah they are making money off of you quoting a 3.9% which is Horrible. For 60 months you should be looking at NO MORE than 2.99%.

Last time I checked PenFed were the lowest at 1.49% for 48 months and 1.99% at 60 months.

The rate by LFS is 0.9% but you can not get that rate if you opt for the $7K rebate (its either or but not both)...

Now, if there was only a way to get the $7K rebate & Financing 60 months for Under 2%

Possible?

You're in the military so you should check out Navy Federal Credit Union, better rate than PENFED currenlty. Their great rates of 0.9% or so, which I have on my other cars, are no longer there for a used car rate. I got 2.79% for 60 months which will go down to 2.5% once you start a direct deposit of $500 minimum.

I got my 2016 with 9,600 miles and rated like new/A- by my independent inspector with 40 months remaining on the factory warranty for $57,810. So like the others said, you may want to be patient and consider a low mileage 2016 instead.

Well, I didn't end up buying it because the miles did bother me a bit so I leased it for no money down and $917 monthly payment.

Got the car based on the price of $70,000 + fee etc.. So $19000 off MSRP.

Completely off-topic, but are there are lot of RC-Fs experiencing oil burning?
