Insurance - Wrong Model Listed
I recently switched over to State Farm because I found their premium to be much lower than my AllState renewal. The policy documents list the model as a GS 200T, although the VIN on the policy is correct. I told them the model is a GS F but they said it shouldn't be a problem, as long as the VIN is correct it's fine. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I remember having something similar when I got my IS F -- Geico listed it as a IS 350 -- I assumed it was because the model was new at the time and their system didn't have IS F as an option. I also assume my premium is lower because they have it as a 200T vs F?
Obvious risk is if and when you need to file a claim you get denied because of the incorrect listing.
This one should be cleared up, maybe call another State Farm Agent or the home office?
Previous threads have described similar insurance gaps when aftermarket equipment loss claims
are unwilling to cover your BigBucks brand stereo or BlingCity style wheel misfortunes.

I've called them twice since it happened to have them correct it and they still just tell me to leave it as is because the VIN is good. I may have them send me an email to confirm this so that if something happens (fingers crossed nothing does), I won't get screwed.
This happened a lot with Scion cars when they first came out, and my IS F was initially an IS350, but has since been corrected. My premiums did not change when they fixed their clerical error at Allstate.

Thanks, they said the same to me, they go by VIN. Either way, just hoping I never have to talk them again until renewal time!

Any theories as to why it’s so expensive?
From the research that i have done so far, it seems that this is all over TX. Premium have gone up ever after the floods and hurricanes that clobbered Houston.
I was also told by the insurance agent that TX is the Highest when it comes to Insurance Premiums, so unfortunately everyone is feeling the heat.
Makes me want to move states cause i am so mad about HIGH premiums!!!
