If luxury makers did not charge such a high premium price for the V8 option I think there would still be a nice market for them but when the premium runs over $5000 in most cases people just settle for the 6 cylinder especially now that 6 cylinders offer enough power/performance that satisfies most buyers wants and needs.

Whe whole argument was the fact that there was a notable difference in hp. Yes there was a C63 black series but I mean hey no one would complain if Lexus did a 500+ hp RC-F equivalent.

There is no market for the hybrid GS either, I believe sales of the hybrid GS are much lower then the 3rd Gen GS430/GS460.

If they do introduce GS300h to US Im sure it would end up being the best selling Lexus hybrid sedan in US.
Bottom line is GS can sell a lot more than it does now if more powertrain options are offered. With 200t and 300h designations in the line up including GS-F, Lexus would have a very healthy GS palette and sales numbers would increase at least 25% if not more.

Well I mean if we want to nit pick numbers then technically it was 451 hp for the C63. Also yes before the 5.5 TT V8 the latest gen E63 did have 518 hp an increase of 11 over the previous gen as according to CarandDriver. But again nit picking.

It is better selling than V8 before, and way better selling (%) than any other competitor's V8.
As to GS-F price, it seems that GS-F will only sell as loaded model basically... I would expect $80k at least to start with. M5 caps out at $119k I think.

For Dec 2014 Lexus sold 11 GS hybrids and Infiniti sold 387 Q50 hybrids.
The combo of the small amount of supplemental HP, lack of AWD and high pricing kills the GS hybrid, not lack of desire for such a car.

Thats actually not at all true. My GC is an Overland model, it has nappa leather, real wood trim, leather dashboard and door panels, the Summit model above mine gets natura leather seats, alcantara headliner. There are definitely big interior material differences from lower trim GCs and upper trim GCs, I've had both.
The GC Overland and Summit are definitely comparable to a Lexus.
In any event though I'm not talking about material quality, I'm talking about refinement, reliability and longevity.

GSF is generating ZERO buzz from visiting some other forums.
For close to $100k, ppl that but these Super Sedan cars do it for bragging rights.
This model will be a failure unless its priced to compete with M3, C63 and ATS.
Then the bean counters will shutdown F cars altogether.
Happened before with "L Tuned" line.....

Thanks for clarifying. I still think Jeep is half mainstream and premium brand, they are no where making luxury vehicles like Lexus or Cadillac. That's said, their top priority in engineering a product isn't refinement. Again, Toyota's biggest strength is its excellent reliability record.

I agree about price, my guess is low $70s to start, 80k or so fully loaded.

I was thinking more of a combined GSh sales 300h + properly priced 450h
Anyhow I know I said before how GS-F is not of my interest but I must admit I actually like this. If this is priced just like loaded RC-F it could be a good deal if you want some spirited driving. I didn't have hopes of 500hp engine but I thought it would be priced in +$95K due to some advanced weight savings and I was so sure this would be the first car to exhibit the technology from LFA. I totally forgot about "regular" V8 sedans because they completely fell off the radar.
I mean if you have a choice of this or CTS-V or Audi S6 how can you not get the NA V8 with similar mpg
