Brake Pad Replacement Question
Maintaining the heat a challenge, I run out of road quick here and have to flip a U, and often traffic (and cops) keeps me from hitting higher speeds (highest speed limit on island is 60). I most likely went too long between runs during first bedding...
60mph is fine, at least for me. I had Project MU PS pads and Endless MX72 pads on the GSF. Both street pads and were bedded at most 60mph. I didn't wanna do it on the freeway, it was too dangerous due to the traffic. And anything over 60mph on the local streets could get me into serious troubles. If you worry that 60mph is too slow, maybe try a few more times, i.e. 15-20 times of 60-5mph. It worked for me, the brakes felt good after bedding, and no weird uneven rotor surface pattern like in your first pic.
I am very lucky to have a very quiet road near my house with two roundabouts about a half mile apart in a mostly wooded area. I just drive back and forth between them late at night. The only hazard is deer, but with the car accelerating and braking hard frequently, the deer just freeze.
Hit it hard from 60-5mph x10 runs. Seeing more rotor contact. I have never had to dedicate this much time to bed brakes but then again this my first go with high performance. Thx all🤙🏾
