Brake Pads Brand Recommendation?
#2
Been driving on Akebono Pro ACT ceramic on my 2014 F Sport RWD for the last 2 weeks. The dust has pretty much been cut to less than half and brake feel is almost like stock. You loose a little of the brake bite compared to oem, but brake modulation is pretty good. I went ahead and had my rotors resurfaced and brake fluid flushed also. There is no brake squeak or noise from these brake pads so far. I drive about 300+ miles a week in freeway traffic and these brake pads have been able to handle stop and go and emergency stops without any issues. The pads are quieter and less dusting than stock pads.

I've put Centric posi quiet ceramic pads on my GS350 and also on my previous car and there is pretty much zero dust. I have been very happy with these pads. You can get them at tirerack or rockauto.

Does it make you wonder why Toyota/Lexus doesn't use that composition for their disc brake pads?

Having clean wheels at the scene of the accident is not anywhere on my list of priorities.

Dirty wheels is such an easy problem: there are numerous wheel cleaning products that are spray on, rise off that remove ALL brake dust without scrubbing.

I love the stock brake performance and I might switch back; I do hate dust but I've never had a stock car brake as good as the GS. I have the akenobonos

The new lexus OEM pads (at least on the AWD) generate less dust than the stock ones on my 2015 did... plus no squeal. And you lose some "initial bite" but the brakes still work very well.

Help!!!
Hi all- I drive a 2014 GS 350 F-Sport RWD and I'm looking to find an aftermarket front brake kit or rotors and brake pads separately. After doing some research I narrowed it down to Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Upgrade Kit OR the EBC Stage 10 Super Sport kit. Do y'all have any other trusted brand suggestions or do you think I should pick one of these? Also, I have been looking at Akebono ceramic brake pads.. let me know what you think. Thank you!

Has anyone ever tried the EBC Redstuff ceramic pads? Seem to have good ratings for dust, noise, and stopping power but I see a lot of people endorse akebonos instead which are a third of the cost

I had red stuff on my 2GS. The stopping power was amazing, but they squeaked, and they were hard on the rotors.
