Exclamation So I got a call from Enform Emergency and the Sheriff's Office...

As most of u know, I traded in my RC for the GS and this morning I got a call from Enform Emergency asking me if I'm okay and needed help. I didn't answer the call cause it was from some unknown number and later saw the voicemail. Then a short moment later another call and voicemail from a Sheriff's office.

That can only mean one thing right? Maybe my old RC was involved in a bad accident. Cause the only thing that can trigger the emergency call is when the airbags are deployed right? And I guess since the Enform service was still registered under my name, that's why they call my phone. I called Enform and ask them to remove that vehicle from my account cause I no longer have it and the agent I spoke to couldn't find out what happened to the car either.

Man so much for the mint and well taken care of RC. That thing is probably wrecked now.

Maybe you are overthinking it.

GM Onstar called this guy while he was hot-lapping his Corvette:

It might be the same case for your RC, and the new owner is just enjoying his toy.

Or one of his kids hit the SOS button without knowing what it does...

I dunno about that... I’ve done some pretty wild things in my GS and have never gotten any calls 😇

Which raises the question, if you never enroll your car in enform, will hitting the SOS button do anything?

Nothing happens. Done it few times and no sounds or changes to anything on the infotainment screen.

Yes the SOS button works in my 2013. It gives me an option to connect to the call center to add a subscription. I'm assuming if I get a person I could ask for help.
Just try it out in your car.
