Default Lowest temp setting for climate control?

2014 GS 350, lowest climate setting is 65 degrees F. In the winter, interior gets too warm to drive with coat on. 2015 and newer GS 350 climate control can be set to 60 degrees. The dealer says my lowest 65 degree setting can not be changed, but I would think there might be some way to override system. I do not care what the readout is, I would just like to lower the actual minimum temperature. Thank you in advance.

Put a thermometer in a vent and run through various temperature settings to verify how closely they follow.
If they are too far off you should consider that the outside temp sensor is at fault. I like it cool also and
when I set my ES temp to 65 in the winter it is nicely cold.

I've done a fair bit of experimentation with the AC, using Techstream and a NATA cert thermometer.

In your settings you can calibrate your external sensor if needed and offset your chosen temperature. I don't understand non-standard units of measurement so bear with me - if I set my requested temperature to 23 degrees I can make the car read that as 20 or 26 degrees. Assuming your cooling system is healthy this theoretically will give you much cooler air.

It's certainly worth a try! You can get any Toyota or Lexus dealer to change this for you, or you can source a cable and software(available from Toyota and *elsewhere*) yourself.

Is the air getting as cold as requested or do you just want more? Too much colder and you introduce more problems.

If you're not freezing your *** off with it on LO/COOL or whatever the bottom setting is, then the system is broken and needs to be repaired. I only ever have to run mine there to encourage the AC to cool off a really hot car...

Uh.. How about just take off your coat when in the car. You should be freezing your *** off. Mine is super cold at 65F.

I might be weird, but I permanently keep mine on LO. I'll use it to cool the cabin down at the highest fan speed but once it's cool, I just turn the fan down to 1 and just let it run there. If I just come out of my garage, I just leave it on LO and on lowest possible fan setting and it achieves the exact level of cool and air flow I like. If I used it on LO and anything more than fan speed 3 for a long period of time I'd freeze for sure.

They did not change the AC system going from 2014 to 2015, I am not sure why they lowered the low temp from 65 to 60 on the 2015 but I bet it has more to do with "appearing" to offer a lower setting then they actually did something that it can really be able to blow 5deg cooler air. I am sure if you put a thermometer in front of the vents they would be blowing at the same temp in the lowest setting on the 2013 and 2015.

OP, set temperature shift is the setting you need changed to potentiality give you cooler air.
