I purchased and installed EBC redstuff pads and rear rotors in June 2018 for my 2014 AWD GS350. The pads have good bite and I'm happy with them other than the large amount t of dust they generate. I won't use the pads again because of this and will go OEM or Akebono next time.

Wanting a high quality rotor, I contacted EBC to conform how thier standard blank rotors are different from the slotted or drilled versions. I was told all the rotors are the same blanks, only the machining is different. These rotors are junk. I have never had a rotor corrode so quickly over one winter (in Canada). I would expect this type of corrosion on cheap Chinese economy rotors, but not on a rotor that is $100 each. They had a black coating when new. The braking surface is even corroded, a clear sign of very cheap metal.

Just replace with oem rotor, problem solved.

I had EBC USR rotors on my last vehicle and loved them. They didn't corrode and the coating was still good on the rotor hat. The coating on the rotor surface obviously isn't meant to stay. Not sure why yours are so bad. I can only assume salt or something else ate at it. A braking surface is going to show corrosion. Hell my oem lexus rotors, just like nearly every other car, show corrosion after a wash until you drive and apply the brakes. Also, where many go wrong with EBC, they should be on car brake lathed at install to minimize bedding time and optimize bedding. EBC is definitely not a cheap chinese rotor. All their products are made in house in the UK

Wow, it sounds like your experience with EBC rotors is quite different from mine. I do know that surface rust is normal on the braking surface, but these have much deeper, pitting type corrosion on the braking surfaces when they are clean. Just wanted to let others know before making a buying decision!

Lol. Thank God I don't know about that cold. No thanks! But yeah, I think you just got a set that slipped thru QC,'s and others shouldn't shy away from them.

Yes, I've seen others also recommend the Centric rotors, thanks for that. I may try something that has the geomet coating as an alternative. I just put Powerstops on the front of my Honda Pilot with the geomet coating and am hoping they last like the OEMs did.
