Smoked Vinyl on Chrome Trim?
Hello Everyone,
I really like the “black pearl” emblems but they seem to fade quickly from eBay and I have a hard time justifying the Hefty price. I’ve noticed some of you are applying a translucent smoke vinyl to your front emblems. It gives it an almost black chrome or “black pearl” look.
I was originally planning on using a gloss black vinyl on all of the chrome pieces and potentially rear emblems but now I wonder if anyone has used smoked vinyl on all of the chrome pieces? I like the idea of black chrome trim (on my Ultra White). I think Avery makes a “black chrome” vinyl too that could look good as well.
Anyone used either products or anything else to change the chrome to more of a “black chrome/pearl” look? Would love to see some pics.

Thanks for posting this! This is exactly what I want to do with my chrome trim, i do not want to fully black out teh trim.
