Default How come lexus doesn't put auto fold mirrior anymore?

They used to have them on the old gen but why not this gen? I looked at a lexus gs 350 2011 and come to find out it doesn't have power folding mirror while the 2006 has it in 2006... Why did they have to cut that out? I am interested in buying a gs but just disappointed in that they cut that feature off, I mean come on its a lexus...

thats odd. I would just check cars you look at to make sure but i thought they all had them. any car ES and lower I wouldn't be surprised they didn't depending on trim. I believe the function can also be turned off

They did not make a 2012 GS. Perhaps you were looking at a 2013. That year, powered folding mirrors were not available.

also true, i would say its not a feature just like how not all cars have LED lights everywhere their first year. so the following years they have something to "update/upgrade" to make models different between facelifts

2013 gs this is insane how a 2006 gs has power folding mirrors yet a 2013 doesn't. 2006 gs a gs 350 is suppose to be better yet even they took out the auto folding mirrors in 2013 and yes I was looking at that 2013 because it looks nice but I was let down because no power folding mirrors for a 2013 car when a 1 or 2nd gen had power folding mirrors.

@iseeu1001 Lexus made an oddball decision not to include pwr folding mirrors on the '13 GS. All 2014+ GS models have it as an optional feature. If that is your main criteria and you are only looking at a 2013 GS, then unfortunately you are out of luck.

If you are able to expand your search and willing to purchase a 2014 or newer GS, many of them have the power folding option.

I agree with you b/c the 2006-2011 GS models had this and removing it for just one model year (2013) is silly. Interestingly, a 2013/2014 Mercedes Benz E-Class US Spec doesn't offer pwr folding mirrors but the 2013/2014 5 Series BMW does offer it as standard equipment.

The UK 4GS were available in 2012 and it looks to me like all versions had power folding mirrors as standard.

My 2015 GS doesn't have auto folding mirrors. It's an option you have to get.

I retrofitted the power folding side mirrors into my 2013 GS. I created a thread on this a while back. Few other people on this forum also did the same.

Both Lexus and Toyota use to bring value and reliable but not anymore. They've cut corner everywhere on newer models. The same for most other car makers. Example: old and underpowered engine, adaptive cruise control not working at lower speed, faux leather everywhere even with luxury package, lid up door sills is optional now, grab handles are plastic instead of leather wrap with wood/chrome trim, outdated infotainment system.....

My 2012 GS350 Fsport came with folding mirrors. Just find some and install them, they're handy to see whether the car is locked.

I wouldn't say a 6 second engine is underpowered, certainly not for the oldies it's marketed toward. Lexus sticks with the true and tested.

I believe the newer GS models have the full range system. Remember the car was first sold 7 years ago when adaptive cruise wasn't so common.

Yeah I was thinking about that today actually, such an expensive car shouldn't have so much plastic leather

Eh I decided I’m going to get a Lexus nx 200t. Doesn’t use to much gas and it looks sexy and it’s going to reliable I hope because of turbo. I would like to get the ls460 but that thing is a gas hog.

I had the 2019 NX300 as a loaner for a week. I don't think i could get any better than 22 MPG combined even tho i was on ECO most of the time. I think it's because the turbo always kicks in when the RPM is low. The response is quick, but don't think the gas mileage on the NX is going to be better than the GS. Features wise, they're great tho because it's a newer car.
