He baked it, that's why the glue is loose and the outer lens came off easily. Again you can't buy just the lens.

You can clearly see it was not a clean break not only is the outer lens broken, but the sides of the tailight are also broken and jagged.

I don't understand how an automatic car wash could cause that damage...

looks like someone hit the lens with a hammer or wacked it with something hard.

He never stated if he brought it to the attention of the car wash. I would expect them to pay for the damage if their equipment damaged my car.

Just courious is there a better looking afte market led tail lights for our car? Not a fan of 16+, but also do not like the orange corners.

Never seen any aftermarket tails for the 4GS...you can always red-out the orange corners:

Its funny because for the 3GS, there were no "orange" portions of the tail lights, it was red and clear/white for the reverse/turn signals. They went back to the orange lens color for the '13-'15 4GS's.

Just put red tape over it and it will be good as new.
