I wonder why this is. Usually premium is 10-20 cents less but the other costco by me always beats the other costco by at least 10 cents.

If pricing not a concern
Shell Premium

Chevron Texaco

then Costco

for the money the best value
I pretty much fill up only shell or costco due to price. I used to get shell just cause I could get 70cents off through fuel rewards every week but they don't give me the cheats anymore =( if anyone wants a code pm me so i can get cheaper gas lol

Does anyone have insight as to why this is? is it they're just charging more for the fuel cleaner additive they add to the premium? If I remember correctly it was around 2007-2012 that we had the gas crisis and regular prices went soaring and thats why price gaps between reg and prem went to 60 cents, but guess they decided they could get away with that pricing and it never went back down? all lower octane gas is premium thats been diluted without the additive right? one of the requirements i thought for top tier gas was having a good detergent added to the gas

For me Costco is $1.82 for Regular and $2.19 for Premium. I usually buy from Quick Trip where Regular is $1.85 and Premium is $2.35.

And people wonder who so many are leaving Ca. & Illinois where I'm from. Our leaders are making it so unaffordable to live here.

I've used Costco gas since day 1. 5.5 years with the GS and no issues. This morning premium at my local gas station was $3.39 vs $2.75 at Costco. I just have to go pump early as lines can be very long at the Costco pumps.

I hate this! PLUS the people who don't realize the pumps extend to reach your tank regardless of which side you are on. Use all the lanes, people!

I'm fortunate that the lines at our local Costco aren't really ever that bad.

As for using all lanes, I am one of those who refuses to do that. I'll wait longer to ensure the pump is on my left. Otherwise it's too hard to keep the hose from dragging across the car, especially the trunk lid. Those are scratches that I do not want.

You just have to be willing to use both hands during the entire pump time to avoid the hose touching the car, or guide the hose with two hands and rest it on the rear glass.

With no lines though, certainly not a problem to wait one or two cars for the right pump. At the Costco by my work, the lines can be 7-8 cars deep for pumps on the left side of thecar, enough that they are blocking access to the opposite side where there are only 1 or 2 cars. Less than half the time will an attendant be out there telling people to use both lanes.

I'm about to start using Costco gas for the price! I never bother because of the lines although I have an account.

Worse thing I have seen at Costco pump was some lady who drove into the pumps the wrong way just so she could get the pump closest to her. People were all shocked. She pumped and left as if nothing happened. LOL

I also heard QT has some decent gas.. comparable with top tier brands. This came from an oil and gas engineer many years ago.

Qt is on the top tier list and they are usually cheaper here as well but not as cheap as Costco

We want them to stay in those lanes so we have a shorter line to go to 😁
