Also there was some other issues in terms of rattles on the interior of the car (sunroof rattle which a new seal fixes, window switch panel rattle, vent rattles and for some people (the rear sunshade would rattle)). Other then that i can't think of any other issues and not everyone experienced those rattles.
Good luck on your search!

Nothing serious OP, no Lexus GS is going to grenade itself. Mine came with a fair few more problems than the badge suggested but they are not biggies. What to check for based on my experience:
Check the:
bendy headlights work(very exy to replace if problematic)
steering wheel doesn't have a church mouse inside it (mine does but I don't think anyone is going to die)
service history, doesn't matter where.
if overly concerned about cosmetics(I'm not) check under the car for the condition of the plastic trays. That will tell you the life story of the car
Water leaks\mould under the passenger carpet.

And i think what he said OP this about covers it. Can't really think of anything else that me or others I know that have owned this car have really experienced outside of this.

Only concern I had is the high pitch humping noise when you accelerating. I researched in this forum it pointed to the alternator. I took it to my stealership and they replaced it under warranty.

That high pitch hum is a Japanese reminder to push the pedal a little harder. Once you get over 3k rpm, you won't hear/care about a thing.

There's a high pitched squeal whenever I turn the wheel. I think that it's a warped clock spring housing or something? I'm sure it'll cost thousands to fix and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

Also, what others have said. Noisy sunroof due to bad seal which is about $50.00 and is user changeable though I haven't done mine yet. An intermittent rattle on the passenger side dash which requires a fair amount of dash & glove box removal to inspect - doesn't bother me enough to tear into it yet. If you have these problems there are good threads in this forum that help with doing these.
On the swiveling headlights, I don't have a use for them as I don't do any driving on windy roads so I turned them off with the button way down under the dash in the driver foot well. So if you look at one and don't think they're working somebody might have turned them off. There are normally two buttons down there. The one on the left is to reset the tire pressure monitors and the one on the right is the AFS (adaptive front lighting system - or somthing like that) button.
