Battery That Fits "Plastic Cage"
Need to change out the OE battery soon but it looks like the "Plastic cage" that has wire supports won't fit on Interstate/Costco batteries (based on my measurements)
Is there a list of batteries that will slide into the plastic cage?

I don’t know, except to tell you that a “genuine OE Lexus battery” that I bought at the dealership pets counter is not the same as the battery that came with the car, and the plastic sleeve will not fit.

Mine has just hit the 5 year mark and I'm looking to replace it too. I'm guessing the dealer's "Lexus" battery is just an Interstate battery. Mike552 did they just throw away that plastic sleeve?
edit.. found this video. From the first comment it looks like that sleeve/cage only fits Panasonic batteries.

The OE battery is Panasonic. If you want that, be ready to pay for it. ~$775. Otherwise just remove the sleeve and get a more affordable battery.

You can remove the sleeve. The metal strap in the middle will hold the battery securely.
Just look for a battery with the same dimensions and orientation as the original.

Out here in the desert southwest, the plastic cover helps to trap heat and shortens the life of the battery. I would take it off, even if it did fit. I got The Costco battery and it fits very nicely without the sleeve.

Why does the Panasonic battery cost so much? Is there no true analog at a reasonable price point?
The fact that my 2013 still has its original battery is pretty amazing. It started yesterday at the airport after three days of super cold weather, which tells me it's still hanging in there. I never had such good luck with more affordable batteries.

You must have a unicorn battery. Almost everyone I know swaps batteries every 2-3 years due to issues. I have a 2013 and have been through two OEM batteries (from factory and then dealer replacement under CPO) and I live in SoCal so weather is not extreme in either direction.
