Why don't these sell? GS350 Fsport

2014 GS350 Fsport. Why don't these sell? Is the KBB value accurate? Seems like the bottom has fell out. I have listed in several local ads and all I get is low ballers which I think is dealers. This car is in excellent condition and I cannot even get an offer of 25K for it. Frustrating when I can get more for my older truck than I can get for this car.

Most people simple want a SUV for their “STUFF” and the families. I’m sure your GS is awesome, it will take the right buyer who appreciates a Japanese sports sedan to buy your well kept used Lexus. Good Luck

What are the "low ballers" offering? Just curious.

A friend is in the market for a used Honda (CRV/Accord) - The 2008 CRV he is looking at is being quoted at ~6k, while a similar year/mileage Accord is being quoted at ~3k.
Looks like sedans are out of fashion

25k is probably too high for a 2014 f sport, unless it has less than 30k miles.
You can get an average mileage 2015 for around that price.
you might want to price around 22-23 and go from there.
the fact that your car is immaculate (condition-wise) makes little difference to the average buyer. Most buyers don't care for pristine paint vs. paint with a few defects.

New Accord Ex for the same price will get so much more safety, connectivity etc. Test drive it and ask yourself witch one is better choice today.

Thanks guys. I was afraid of that. All offers have been 22k-23k (unseen). I think you are right no one cares it is in great shape. The exterior has a ceramic coating after clay bar and polish so it looks great. I will keep it in storage until spring. Maybe do better then. Oh by the way 44k miles

BMW, AUDIs are also not much better,

Time of year, maybe? Fun cars tend to heat up in the spring and slow down in the winter.

North Americans feel insecure when they aren't in an automobile which stands a foot above a normal sedan or hatchback. Personally hate the high center of gravity of SUVs, but I guess that's what makes me a GS driver.

One word: SUV's

JDR76 01-16-19 08:31 AM

It's unfortunate that the GS doesn't hold its value better. The SUV craze is a part of it, sure, but even without that the GS doesn't hold its value as well as other sedans. Even my IS held its value better than my GS.

Also, Lexus was running crazy high residual values on 14s or 15s, which likely makes values worthless now.

What is the mileage, color, condition, how are you advertising it, etc? What is the market/selection like in your area? Every vehicle gets low ball offers no matter what they typically go for. Despite the fact that the GS does not sell well now, they did sell many of them in 2014, there are plenty of 2014 GS350's to choose from. Is yours AWD? AWD is in high demand for luxury vehicles in states that just get a little snow for some reason, for states that get a decent amount it is hard to sell RWD sedans. Unless you have low miles, like 30K or less, $25K is just too much to ask right now especially for a private sale with no warranty, I would lower your price and what you expect. See what the dealers offer you for it and then work from their offers. Right after Christmas is a terrible time to sell a car too. Best scenario to sell a car is when you don't really need to sell/buy and can wait until you get what you want.

Those aren't lowball offers at all for a 2014 with 44K miles, it is about right, when you said lowball I was expecting $18K or $19K, even lower. If you can get them to $23.5 sight unseen/no warranty I would sell and be happy. You want lowball offers, see what the dealers will offer, I would not be surprised when they offer under 20K. If yours is not AWD that is going to be even a tougher sell in Ohio.

I assume its still under powertrain or even basic warranty. If it's AWD f sport with BSM and parking assist, you might get little more.
