Check battery terminals for cleanliness and tightness.

I had similar issue, my car won't start after 1 hr of parking in the mall. I had to replace the battery. Luckily it was my last week of basic warranty so Lexus replaced the battery no-cost.

Well mine is completely out of any warranty lol so I’ll be purchasing one

terminals are clean and tight

I’m bringing a multimeter to my work just to verify. Anyone recommend a good replacement there is a crap battery in it right now

You have a 2013, probably built in 2012, so 6 years with the original battery, you need a new battery, especially if it's dying in an hour. No surprise here since this is about what you'd expect as far as battery life goes. Soon your going to have a dead battery cell and it won't jump at all. Just go to the auto parts store and buy a new one.

You have a bad cell in the battery, so it will not charge correctly. This happened to my girlfriends car last year. So yeah completely toast, need new battery.

Car starts fine now but after doing some research I believe my car falls under the "possible" parasitic drain TSB that is out there.

I am not too concerned as before the battery died it sat for a week ~ and started with no issue. However, It is something I would like to at least have knowledge about for future reference.

My car has 67000K miles on it so I am not even going to entertain the fact of a Lexus dealership honoring the TSB out of warranty. With that said, I know an updated Network Gateway Module can be had on ebay and various other sources for about 60 bucks. Just out of morbid curiosity, does anyone know where this part is located on the vehicle.
I am not going to run out and fix it as I do not know or even believe that a problem exists yet or at all. I'd just like to have some insight in case I notice the battery draining down the road.
Thanks
Frank

The battery in the 450h lasts a whole lot longer than the non-hybrid. Mine is 6 years old and running strong.

Found this post from the 3rd gen forum, battery lasted 9 years:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...-a-gs450h.html

This makes sense since 12v in the 450h doesn't start the car, the hybrid motor/ hybrid battery does. I think 12v is there to run aux power when the car is off.

Too many factors affect battery life, but mostly it is temperature. FWIW, I'm still on the OEM battery and my car is a 2013, bought June 1st, 2013. Most of the time the car sit in the garage and I drive maybe 2 to three times a week.

I plan on replacing the battery soon but I keep putting it off as I don't really need to drive at all most days.

I'm still on my 2013 battery.

It's only a matter of time before I am unable to go somewhere one cold morning.

Or worse: it'll happen in the airport parking lot...

If you feel that way, why haven't you replaced your 6 year-old battery?

Have you had your battery load tested recently?

I load tested my 6 year old battery earlier today, tests ok. Paid less than $20 for my load tester, worth buying.

The battery is 450cca. My battery is in the trunk.

Once it gets down to the weak zone I'll think about replacing it.

That battery load tester is useless for a car battery. You need a load tester that can pull twice the battery's CCA.

HERE is a decent battery load tester that is inexpensive.
