Almost positive I do not have the soft-close latch. Then again, I never tried it because I always slam the trunk closed. I will try tomorrow lol. xD

The trunk motor would be the most expensive part to obtain, unless you can get it cheap from a junk yard. I considered this mod, but even the used one I found on eBay was $500(85790-30050), brand new is $950.
Okay got around to finding the ebay links I bought from. It was a late night purchase... I saw them, didn't research them, just bought them, #gambled

Not sure why you would need a different trunk lid lock cylinder, I think that's the same. The one you bought should be keyed to another car. This is the part you stick your key in to unlock the trunk manually.

I don't know about the wiring harness, but the truck latch looks correct for the power trunk.

Does the 4GS have a trunk lock cylinder? I genuinely don't remember lol.

I just bought everything the guy had because the assumption is it all came from the same car so... Plus I didn't know we had keys for the trunk lock...

Yes. 4GS has a key hole to open the trunk. Just lift the lid of the trunk and look around the area by the license plate lights. I forget which side.

I also saw the same eBay listings, before, but didn't really look into it much. You might gain the functionality of the soft close just by installing the latch.

Open an eBay case here:
https://resolutioncenter.ebay.com

Select item not as described as the reason and type purchased by mistake(or nothing, doesn't matter). The return will automatically get approved by eBays money back guarantee because of the category you select and override the sellers return policy.

To be completely frank, I have never used a key for the trunk nor can I imagine any scenario when I would need it. I might hang on to it but I might return it. I am off the next 3 weeks from work so I will screw around with it.

So are you doing the dash panel swap for hud and installing pre collision during your timef off?

I used the key to open the trunk once to try it out. I guess if the key fob battery dies and you really need to get into the trunk.

Yes, sir. Decided to buy the stuff new. Finding some of this stuff from junkyards and different countries is a PITA. I also bought the PCS Radar Emblem from Russia and it just cleared US Customs after 1 month. Not worth the wait and potential cost savings. The radar I tried to get from Czech Republic, UAE, and China, no success. They all complained about export duties and fees so it was a no-go.

Okay so after doing some more research, turns out I still need the most expensive part lol.

84930-50050 is the trunk switch open/close button.
84656-30110 is the bezel for the trunk switch.
85790-30050 is the trunk lid opener assembly which I do not have. The person on eBay put the wrong part number.
64650-30070 is the trunk lid actuator which the eBay guy sold me.
82181-30430 is the trunk wiring harness
The trunk cylinder I am not sure what it is but I assume if you manually use your key to open it that it will trigger the mechanism to lift it up. I will need to swap my lock cylinder with the one that is in this one.

So it looks like I have all the parts except for the very expensive 85790-30050 (retails for ~$1K new and several hundred used). Will need to hunt this part down, looking at some Japanese auctions lol. Oh boy.

LOL you're hard-core Eddie!
On a side note, since you tearing up your car..would you know where the rear window defogger harness is located?
My rear defogger is not working. I think when they did body work, they may have forgotten to plug the harness back.
Trunk switch is not working too..same here. They probably forgot to plug it back in.

My gas cap wasn't locking but dealer was nice enough to plug the wire back.
They wanted to charge me $1500 to do the same for rear defogger and trunk switch since they didn't do the body work.

Why wouldn't you take the car back to the body shop that was suppose to make sure everything worked as it should?

Turns out there are two different systems. I have all the parts for the "easy closer", the same thing that is on the LS460. If I want the power trunk lid, I just need to get 85790-30050 so I can have both power trunk with easy closer. Interesting... I'm such an idiot with this stuff.

Good point. He should take it back to them first before messing around on his own.
