Wait, I thought the F-Sport filters were the one that could be washed and re-used and the K&N filters were just thrown away after it got dirty.

EDIT: Never mind, just youtube'd it.

The K&Ns are washable.

Amazon Amazon

Gotcha, so i guess the only difference between the F-Sport filters and the K&N is the oiling after rinsing?

Correct. No oiling for the F-Sport filter, only the K&N.

For one of the other posts mentioning a replacement 3 times over 10 years. In that case, sure it’s definitely not worth it. But I’m old school... I replace mine every year in the Spring, at the same time I replace the cabin air filter, no matter how many miles I’ve driven. So that’s $25 each year which definitely makes the F-Sport filter more cost effective, for me. There’s a hassle factor that “costs” each of us at a different rate though. The older I get, the less I care about washing a non-paper filter - I usually find OEM paper filters on eBay for about $20 shipped and I’m happy with that.

Once a year is way too often unless you are driving in extremely harsh conditions like through sandstorms in Afghanistan. But to each his own. I always do what the service manual tells me.

That's only semi accurate. The manual says 36 months or 30,000 miles... prior to my job change and move to NC, I was driving 40-45k miles a year which blows past the owner's manual requirement. If you're driving 10k miles a year or less, then sure, 3 years is fine. Next time I say I'm changing a part every year, I'll give more color on the reasoning why

Anyone know if the fsport filter fits the 17 GS? Says 13-16 when I last looked.

Thanks for all you guys sharing the ideals. I check the F sport air filter for 2016 GS 350 and the part is not fit for the GS 350 not F sport.

What's odd is that the F-Sport filter that Bell Lexus is selling on eBay says it's for 2013 - 2016, but the filter that Superstition Springs is selling with a different part number says it's for 2013-2015. And the OEM paper filter that Bell is selling says it's compatible for years 2013 thru 2017.

Even more odd, if you look at the part numbers for aftermarket filters (Purolator, K&N, CarQuest), they're the same for both the 2013 and 2018.

Quick follow up from my earlier note. I sent a note to SS Lexus and they confirmed the F-Sport filter works for model years 2013 - 2018. Looks like they also updated their listing on ebay as well. So, regardless of year 4th gen GS30 you're driving, you should be good to go.

Here's a link for your convenience as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/111688444712?ul_noapp=true

i put a F sport filter in mine last week for this reason, i just didnt want that paper filter in it and didnt know how many miles it had since I bought it used. Its teh same filer for a IS350 f sport as they have teh same air box. In fact if you order the F sport intake tube, box top, and filter for an IS itll fit the GS.
