What problem does it solve? I'm loathe to add things to oil or fuel as most are snake oil meant to ease the mind and lighten the wallet but little else.

1) Toyota doesn't refine or mix their own chemicals. So it is some rebranded stuff with a price hike.
2) It is snake oil.

IT's really debatable if these injector cleaner type additives have any effect whatsoever., but FWIW, I've heard the EFI and Chevron Techron are the best ones to buy if you're going to.
Injector failure or dirty injectors to the point of really affecting performance/MPGs is rare.

Agree. The best thing you can regularly put in your tank is high quality fuel from a reputable retailer. High quality fuels all contain detergents that help keep injectors cleaner for longer.

About the only additives I will use are Techron in a car I don't know the history of and after a tank I want the fuel filter changed.
The other thing is Seafoam through the intake if I can see the motor is really gummed up from too many years of a granny driver never exceeding 1/4 of the RPM band. A can of Seafoam, some good gas and an Italian tuneup fixes most problems like that.

I won't add any additive to my vehicles' fluids (engine oil, gasoline, transmission, differential, radiator, brake fluid). In my opinion those fluids come with the proper amount of additives already, and don't need anything additional. With regard to gasoline, all Tier 1 gasoline brands of the recommended octane rating have adequate cleansing additives...
