Default New Toyota Crown - Hope for a new GS?

https://newsroom.toyota.co.jp/en/toyota/23102775.html

As a driver of a GS450h, the detail that really catches my eye is a version of the Crown with the LC500h's powertrain. A new GS500h sure sounds delicious to me!

If the S-Class and the Genesis mated, this is what the offspring would look like

The Crown tends to look different from the GS. It's the underpinnings that are related to the GS so I wouldn't worry about the outer design (especially the front) too much.

I actually love the new Crown's styling, and would buy one in a heartbeat, if it were available here.

As to this leading to a new GS, I'm hopeful, but doubtful.

If the GS were to continue I would have expected the roof line of the crown to be more coupe like how the camry and ES are. I wouldn't mind them not continuing the GS for a while since i just ordered my little gem lol

this could very well be the route Toyota will go with the GS. that roofline slopes very much like a GT at the back...

Not sure if this is an indication that there is a future for the GS but I believe that after a little break, a rename and 4 door coupe styling is coming...more Audi A7-ish.

Are they built on the same line? Similar to Avalon and ES...

I don't believe so. GS is built in the Tahara plant and I believe the Crown is built in the Motomachi plant.

It's also good to keep in mind that this is in the Japanese market, if, which I doubt, they bring this to the US, it would definitely look different. I can definitely see a lot of Camry/Avalon and GS styling hints in the look for sure. The interior is a bit...generic IMO. I like how the current generation GS handles the screen in the dash with a built in hood over the screen. It sits deep in the dash, it's easy to see, read, and doesn't distract you too far from the road. I'm not a big fan of the "pop-up" or tablet styled screens.

Integrate things cleanly into the dash.

Somehow, this new Crown never got Lexus' 3.5L V6 Twin Turbo.
Not for now anyway.
