Default Ultra high performance summer tures

My '15 base 350 came equipped with Dunlop SP sport max 050 tires, which are a max performance summer tire. Aren't these tires overkill for a gs350? Tires such as these belong on the rear wheel drive sports cars that have a much higher performance threshold. My question is the gs has a lower performance threshold than a true sports car. I'll be needing new tires soon and I'm thinking of getting continental extreme contact dws 06 tires. Will I be getting less grip on clover leafs

i have the continental EC tires and they are pretty great. I live in FL, it is always hot and wet here (that's what she said!).

Never had good experience with dunlop's.

Unless you have true winters and only one set of tires, there's nothing wrong with running Max Performance summer's all year round. The only drawbacks are cost and possibly slightly stiffer ride(the latter of which I see as a plus, but some don't).

Question is do you need max performance tires? Clover leafs aren't exactly the track. If you have the money to burn on a 20k life tire. Likely you're not really going to push any tire to where it's going to make a huge difference in cornering performance. Down in fl, you probably want something that can deal with wet conditions too. A middle of the road, all season tire fits most of our needs which are available by a few manufacturers (Pirellis are popular, Goodyear F1, and Continentals). Just find your price point and any other criteria you desire like road warranty. Should serve your GS just fine.
