Luxury vs F Sport
I'm looking at purchasing a 2015 luxury model and I see that it rides on 19" wheels like the F Sport.
Does this cause the ride to suffer in the same way the F sport does compared to 18" wheels?
Are there any differences between luxury and F sport with regards to Sport + mode?
Does the Luxury have the same size brakes?

Ive read from several sources it's a firmer ride than the base model. Like a lot of other cars do. My wife's cx9 has the bigger rims and it's just a harsher ride than the trim level with smaller wheels.
How much the difference is the wheels versus suspension, I don't know.

The ride quality is not that much different between the two models. Tires also play a factor. Maybe tbe f-sport is a bit stiffer, but it is the sport trim
Sport/sport+ is the same.

Sport+ between luxury and f sport is NOT the same.
Someone here on the forum educated me on the fact that the AVS is indeed different. He posted a link to back this up.
Search and you will find it.

Very minor difference between the F-Sport and Luxury trim is one (1) extra driver's seat adjustment.
The base model has 10-way adjustable seats - front edge Up/Down, back edge U/D, Forward/Back,
Recline Forward/Back and Lumbar In/Out.
The F-Sport add the Extension under the knees Out/Back, The Pelvic (below the Lumbar) In/Out
and the best single feature...the side Bolster "wings" In/Out.
To all of these the Luxury seat add a middle of the seat back "hinge" that tips the seat top Forward/Back.
Both the F-S and Lux excel over the base by tying all the special adjustments to the seat memory system.
This is by far the best "marriage saver" feature available.

Thanks. I didnt know this. I guess the technology/what the car does mechanically is the same but the effect it has on the vehicle differs between the two trims..

Whether this is simply a “tune” or something more substantial, like totally different computer hardware... i don’t know.

Except for the rear wheel steering, asymmetric rear wheels & tires, and the front brake rotors & calipers, the Luxury & F Sport have identical part numbers for coils springs, shock absorbers, sway bars, both front & rear, left & right - thus the software mapping of the 9-stage electronic variable valves inside the shock absorbers is different for F Sport models.
