Default Steering Wheel telescopic adjustment

Is there a setting i can turn off, so the steering wheel won't extend and retract every time I turn on and off the car? i can't find it in the vehicle settings.

thanks.
Joe

Menu > vehicle customization > other vehicle settings. Mentioned on page 132 and 797 in the owners manual. I believe it can be changed to full, partial and off.

I do not believe you can effect the steering wheel separate from the seat retraction. The above is for both Seat and Steering Wheel.

I suspect if the normal driving position had the steering wheel fully retracted (toward the dash) it would just stay fully retracted and not move when the seat goes back... Most people have an issue with the driver's seat going back, because it cramps leg room for the back seat occupant...as-if it's not already cramped for leg room when the front seats are moved back.

I have mine set to retract the wheel but not the seat. Love the wheel retraction, but hated the seat moving.

Maybe you can help the OP then. How were you able to program one to move without the other moving?

I do not believe there is a way to turn off the steering wheel portion.

To stop the seat from moving, I did as described above and set the easy access system to OFF.

Have to use TeachStream to turn off the "tilt away" steering column feature when entering/exiting the car. Only the "exit assist power seat move back" feature can be done through the NAV.

Turn off easy access which makes seat and steering wheel move when you get in/out of the car

No, I have easy access off. Steering wheel still moves.

You can do it through Techstream. I had the steering retraction disabled at some point as I was worried about the wear on the telescopic adjustment mechanism over time. But eventually I reverted it back because being 6' tall, I found getting out of the vehicle was just so much easier with the steering wheel retraction on. One day it'll probably cost me dearly when it decides to go.

I guess I'm the only one who loves it. I'm 6'4, makes getting in and out WAY easier

Not sure why you would think that... I would guess that most every driver likes the feature - not so however for many back seat passengers behind the driver.

I'm alone in my car 95% of the time. The other 5% I have one at most 2 people in my car.
