Somewhat true, but good luck finding an F-Sport for that price. That literally has no options. Fake leather, no special color (USB), none of the additional "options". There's really no point for Lexus to even build one of those. Just an advertising gimmick to get you in the dealership.
I got mine that had an MSRP of $55-56k-ish... the GS350 F-sport comes with leather standard (I don't think you can get it otherwise) I got the Mark Levinson and was a USB too. After negotiations you can bring that price well below $52k. But even if you don't go for the F-Sport, going for a base (most likely with the Premium package) you could get an 2018 for less than a 2017

Agree... when I was trying to get a '17 Fsport last month (with similar features as you describe, AWD) with MSRP 59-60k, I was getting offers of 48-49k without any negotiation... unfortunately they were taken before I could get to any of the dealerships as I was buying out of state but I still got an '18 base + premium and AWD for a little below 50, also in November
I can guarantee you the best price you'll find on a new Lexus will be in California but, there's a catch, that Jerry Brown wants you to pay sales tax in his state too. Plus your state will most likely want sales tax. Not a good deal! Of course you could have the car shipped from Ca. to avoid their tax. I was not willing to do that. I feel it was well worth the trip $$ wise to buy mine out of state.
I dont know the guy personally, but scumbag or not, he is just following the letter of the law. If the car is purchased in another state, the delivery MUST occur in the home state with zero miles added to the odometer. An odometer disclosure statement staing miles and place of delivery must be certified by the seller. This is the ONLY way to legally avoid paying sales tax in the state of purchase.
