@GoodRevs - How much more is the OEM weatherstrip seal versus the cheap eBay seal for comparison sake?

Turns out it’s negligible. Initially the OEM seemed to be $80-ish, but I’m finding it for $40-50, and with a coupon code I have it’ll be less than $20. No brainer.

Tried this today and the new seal is too loose. I removed the front tied bolts to make it easier. I can place it around all 4 corners and there is still slack around the front and back. When I try to shut the sunroof the seal slips out of place.

Tried to put the old one back on, it’s got a bit of slack too now.

using part # 63251-30100

That is the correct part number unless you purchased a generic (as in not made by Toyota) from places like Amazon The slack is due to the seal not being firmly seated onto the sunroof edges.
You have to really firmly push the seal until it clicks / clamps down to the inner grooved on the sunroof lip.

worked on it again this morning and got it to click in the grooves. It was really a pain in the *** to get it to click in, I guess I just expected it to go in without so much force.

Finally got the time to attempt this DIY - used the method without removing the glass. Took a bit of trial and error, but finished in ~ 40 minutes. Sunroof clunk appears to be fixed! Thank you to everyone who posted detailed pictures and instructions.

This may come off as ignorant but will this same fix work on a 2014 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport? I just purchased one and it's having the rattle issue. Just want to make sure this applies to the 2014 IS350 before I take everything apart and start working on it (going to be replacing the sunroof motor as well).

I think you’re going to need to do some checking on the IS forum. Even for us it’s only a bandaid
