Default Just Picked Up My GS

Hey all -

I just go back from Vermont where I picked up my new-to-me 2013 GS 350 AWD with Luxury package. This only has 18,800 miles on the clock! Took me a bit of time on the drive home getting to know the car and I feel it will take me more time still.

Here are some images of the car after I brought it home. Please excuse any bugs on the front end

Finally, the whole car crew

Not bad. A totally different animal than my K900 which competes with the LS, S Class and 7 series. I was surprised that the car was very quick for a NA 6 cyl coming from my V8. There was more wind and ride noise but it was still very comfortable. Had no problem making the 2.5 hour drive home...which is a good sign since I travel a lot and will be going to NC from NY in a few weeks. A nice 14 hour jaunt.

One thing i was really really surprised about is how nimble the car is. My K900 is a land yacht and is not designed to go around corners this flat. It was cool to be back into something pretty sporty that can also be luxurious when it is called for.

Congrats!! Not to go off topic but how has the K900 performed thus far? I have been seriously considering one but have been concerned about reliability and performance compared to the GS.

Oh yeah: Luxury for the win. 19k miles on a 2013? That's incredible. Welcome to the club.

Silver and Flaxen is rare, too, isn't it? Usually see silver with black.

The car has been really rock solid. The only problem I have had is that the head unit went out at about 9k miles. That was replaced under warranty and havent had a problem since. It is a really nice and solid car. The only problem is getting them serviced. The Kia dealer has to be certified to work on the K900's because of their rarity and they are the only car they offer with the V8.

The rarity brings up another problem. All parts have to be flown in from Korea. None of the car is made in the U.S. and dealers dont stock parts for them because they are so rare. Sales numbers put the K900 at .04% of all Kia sales for the past 2 years...

Hell of a deal for 28.5.

Man those luxury packages are a bargain as they mostly go unnoticed. If I wasn't so hot for the F sport package when i got mine, I wouldve gotten a luxury pkg for sure. I skipped over on a '14 lux awd with 30 thou miles for an advertised price of 26.5k...

Instead I got a 2014 F sport awd with 55 thou miles for 27.5. Still a good deal but the miles are kinda high compared to the other choices i had at the time.

Anyway, nice ride. You did good.

Nice ride and even better price! The Flaxen interior is a nice choice and it def. gives the car a more "exotic" feel esp. when all your windows are down and sunroof is open showing the nice contrast between exterior and interior. Enjoy

Thanks all! It has a really clean carfax.

Here is the story behind the car. It was at a side of the road dealer (you know, the kind you never buy a car from? That kind) in Vermont. I checked the carfax and saw that it lived in VT/CT all of its life and never went to auction. I called the dealer and spoke to the sales guy/service guy/owner (same person lol) and the first question I asked was "how did you get this car" and he told me that a family friend was a snow bird and recently moved to florida full time. Knew he sold cars and just wanted him to sell the car for them.

This is the second car in 5 years I have bought off of a snow bird old man and I love it!
