2014 GS F sport 42,000miles, 29,700 OTD Did I over pay?
A little after the fact, but just pulled the trigger on a Pearl White 2014 Lexus GS F sport with 42,000 miles for 29,700 OTD. It was not a CPO. This is my first venture into the lexus world...excited and hopeful I got a reliable car.
You guys think I overpaid?

Welcome and congrats on your new ride!
Someone will always come along and show that they got a better deal on their purchase. It's just the way it is. If you are comfortable paying what you paid and got a car you like, then in my opinion, you did just fine.

Assuming the car was s in good condition, you probably paid a tad over market value. Thats ok, so did I. What was important to me was the color combination that I wanted. I didnt even care about the little options since i was coming from a subaru!

In my opinion I would rather pay up to a couple thousand more and get a mint, cream puff car that I really want, than to buy a less desirable car for $3-4 thousand less. So, in my view the spread between a car I want and one I don't care to have is about $3-4 grand. That said, if you bought a car you really like (color, condition, options, etc.) then you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks. There will always be someone that says they bought such-'n-such car for some extraordinary price. In all likelihood there was a very good reason their car was sold so cheaply, but you'll never hear from them why...

Thanks and really solid advice guys! Hand was forced to pull the trigger sooner than later since Hurrican Irma flooded the old ride. In any case, I feel exactly like you guys said. May have overpaid a tad, but all in all, don't feel like I got reamed, and am happy with the purchase.
Forum's already proving to be huge source of info-realized we could get vehicle maintenance history from the lexus ownership site- apparently the air outlet damper contro servo had to replaced. This a common problem people have been having with the 4th gen? Saw a few threads on it, so I'm guessing its an isolated issue? Hopefully this isn't a reoccurring thing.

Sounds like a good price to me.
Was everything perfect on it.
in 2014 that was probably a $60k car.
So in 3 years 42k miles u paid 50% of what the 1st buyer spent on it.

Congrats on your purchase. Sounds like a fair price to me. I think the 1st rule of car buying applies (Rule 1: The day after you purchase a car, you are guaranteed to find the same car on another lot for just a little bit less than you paid. That amount will be just enough to make you wonder if you got taken)

Thanks,
Oddly, the car was actually in better shape than a few CPO cars I saw. Some of these had a few more dings and scratches in the interior than I would have liked.
Here in SC, seems likes there's a dearth of supply for the GS's and so wonder if the price of these used varies widely regionally.
