Default Lease Buy Out, Early...

So I still have a year on my lease but my wife to be has a car note on her name. I am planning on getting a cheaper car I can buy out right for a few years.

Is it possible to trade in her car and put everything on her name? My credit score has been shot for a while due to business loans and such. I can afford it but i don't think Lexus will approve me if I went to buy the car out myself. I know sometimes you can get a better buy out deal but any insight should be good!

OR

Sell her car and continue lease payments.?

If you are "soon to be married" maybe put both of your names on the note

You said, "getting a cheaper car I can buy out right for a few years". Does that mean you have the cash now to purchase it outright? Or are you planning on financing a less expensive car and have it paid for in a few years (and keep it)? Does she still have a balance on her existing note and/or is there any equity?

Leases always look so attractive with their low monthly payments and minimum down payment, but man are they a pain if you want to get out early.

Sometimes the best thing to do is...nothing. Just keep what you have and "weather the storm" until your lease has matured and/or your "soon to be" wife's car it fully paid for. Think of the options you will have when all of that finally happens.

Good luck!

I plan on getting a E63 AMG I found for 10K but my wife does have a car note on her Acura still. So my plan was to trade in her Acura against the buy out so one less car note between us. I was thinking maybe riding out the lease but sell her car in mean time then.

You said your trading the Acura, the other question is do you have equity in your trade? If not you will need to roll the negative in the loan
