Default 8' screen upgrade to 12,3' ?

Hello guys 🙂

I'm thinking about the possibility to upgrade gs350 8' screen with 12,3 screen. The dashboard size looks excatly same size but did anyone tried it? Or is it possible?

With money, anything is possible lol. It would involve swapping out the screen and bezel and would likely also require swapping out the head-unit and wire harness.

The screen itself is about $7000 new, not including the center console buttons, most likely OS differences needing updates, and a slew of other electrical components needed behind just the screen. IMO trade for another vehicle if you want the bigger screen.

$7000 !!!!😱

F@&ck that I'm out 😂

By the way. One of my friend replaced the rigular gs350 dashboard "speedometer" with the gsf one and it works perfectly!

Thats the reason why I post this but it seems the screen is more complicated than a dashboard

Hi folks !! Sorry for waking you up. I just wanted to share my experience about this thread 🙂.

As you know, my lexus Gs350 came with 8" screen 'non F sport edition that came with this stupid screen'. So I took a risk and bough the following from a poor guy got his lexus Gs totalled:
1- lexus gs 12.3" screen 😎.
2- the back frame for it.3- the glass cover.

And guess what guys ?? It's just PLUG AND PLAY. See the picture below for my car.

Also, I did couple of modification one that really worth it !

Interesting I thought you would also have to change the head unit thinking your current one only outputs to the 8" screen resolution.

That is interesting! On my 2016 GS200t, I tried the screen only first but the 12.3" screen was showing a distorted/pink screen everywhere but the left side 8" block, which was still nearly impossible to use with the oem controls.

Yeah you need to change the head unit to the nav model.

is the back frame and the glass cover required? or can we just use back the existing from the 8inch?

Yes it's required. Because the 8" screen frame has wide borders that close the 12.3" gap.

I have good recommendation for u. Instead of buying OEM 12'3 screen (which is the same boring system, the only advantage is the size and look) u may consider buying the android 12'3 screen for the lexus Gs. It's cheaper, it came with all the required stuff like frame, cable etc.., it has very modern system like phone mirroring, apps. And finally, it's plug and play.

You may type (lexus gs350 android screen on Amazon or AliExpress).
