Default recent purchase on a 2017 GS350

hi all,
was wondering what kind of discounts are to be expected on a new 2017 GS350 during this time of the year?

I'm picking up a 2017 GS 350 AWD F-Sport on Thursday of this week & I'm paying $54,000 vs. MSRP of $$59,580. The MSRP is inclusive of a $995 delivery, processing & handling fee. I hope this helps.

Is that $54k with the rebates? Are you talking about leasing or buying? I work for a lexus dealership. If that's $54k with rebates I can definitely do better. What state are you in?

The $54,000 is after a $2,000 rebate and I'm in New York.

Still can't believe dealerships get away with charging $1,000 for delivery/shipping. What a crock of ****.

The $8k with the rebate is a really good deal. You could really grind and probably get another $500 but other than that most dealers will pass. $8K off is definitely a fair price and anything less right now you're losing out.

My experience buying my '17 GS seemed to indicate that price was going to more effected by inventory and general availability in the surrounding area than anything else. If I had wanted a silver F-sport or a white base, the discounts were substantially more; especially if I were willing to drive in a 300 mile radius. However, if you wanted a specific color combo Luxury Pkg. as I did, then it was a harder negotiation and almost a "glad I found it" instead of a "wow, what a deal". Like Tsavoldy, I paid about $54K for a $60k sticker car..... and, "glad I found it"!

Similar story here. I bought a 2017 Lexus GS in May. It's a Matador Red RWD with Luxury Package, and everything except the triple led headlights and Head's Up Display. Sticker was $59,035. Got it for $53K and change - it amounted to about $5500 below sticker.

I literally spent several evenings on lexus.com searching dealer inventories all across the country. This is the only one I found with this color and option combination. It was over 300 miles away from my home location.

Doesn't really matter what you pay depreciation on this car is crazy. I bought my 2013 gs 450h for $28, original msrp with options was close to $65k. Almost 57% depreciation in 3.2 years.

You know, this purchase was one of the few I have made without seriously considering what the future value in $$ was going to be. I bought exactly what I wanted (after my ES mistake), knowing that I was keeping this car for a long time. I have purchased 'used' before and have been happy, but buying 'new' on my GS was the only direction I was going. I certainly understand how depreciation plays out in a purchase and I would prefer this to hold the value like my '07 Ridgeline has done; however I'm not selling it any time soon either, so the current $$ value is irrelevant.
I think where we are in life has a great bearing on the value of items we purchase, and I'm probably on my last hurrah!
