Default Engine bay layout

hi all,

just had a dumb question. it seems the engine bay layouts are the same for the IS350, RC350 and GS350. just trying to find out if this is true. if it is i should be able to install the following IS350 F Sport parts on my GS350 F Sport: F Sport Intake and F Sport Carbon Fiber engine cover.

right?

The IS350 engine cover fits the 2013-15 GS but not 16 and on.

What changed on the 16+ 350? They're still using the 2GR-FSE engine right? My 17 RC 350 engine looks exactly like my 14 GS 350.

No, the GS350 now uses the 2GR-FKS engine instead of the 2GR-FSE.

2GR-FSE (GS350 2013-15):

2GR-FKS (GS350 2016+):

Note the engine oil cap and front cut-out.

The 2017 RC350 still uses the 2GR-FSE, which is why it is the same as your GS was. For 2018, the RC350 gets the 2GR-FKS.

So is the oil cap just under the cover now?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_GR_engine#2GR-FKS

FKS has 311 HP vs FSE's 305.
