Brake Caliper Paint Experiences

Thanks for all of the advice guys. Mine came out great.
I used the VHT cleaner and scrubbed them with a wire brush. They were not to dirty. Then I used my new Wen rotary tool and several of the buffing polishing wheels, in 320 grit, then 400 grit to make sure they were really clean. Then once over with the cleaner, some alcohol, and a good wipe down. Then covered up everything. I found using to opened up garbage bags worked great to cover the car and everything else. Let it sit overnight then started painting in the morning. 3 coats of the VHT blue caliper paint with 10 minutes between coats. Then waited 20 minutes and applied the decals. And finally 3 light coats of the VHT gloss clear with 10 minutes between coats. Note the clear will seem to fog up but it will clear up as it dries. Then gave them 24 hours to dry, and put the wheel back on the next day and went for a drive with some good braking to heat them up to cure them. Thanks again.

Lead Lap
Blue lookin' good
I did mine about two years ago and I saw a very small piece had flaked-off recently. I just reapplied the VHT very carefully and it did the trick. I'm not sure about everyone else's experience as far as how longevity as I imagine that in the northeast with the four seasons it definitely put the paint through the wringer a bit more esp. with the extremes of summer heat and winter salt. I'm impressed though with how well it held up over the last couple of years.
