Default Bent rim

I'm sure there's already a thread out there however I was wondering if it's possible to fix a bent rim, it seems to be bent at the lip and I've taken it to one professional shop already and they say it can't be done and I need a new one even thought the rim is slightly bent

Did they say why it can't be fixed? New 19" GS F-Sport wheels are expensive if you're getting it from a dealer...

IMHO it may be too expensive to fix which is why the shop told you to get a new one or a 'like new' refurbished wheel you see often on eBay. Typically they are able to fix any rim unless its cracked or has some excessive damage to the center area for the lug nuts.

they didn't specify but I can't get a new rim or I'd have to get it painted because my current set have been darkened

Why don't you try another wheel repair shop?

Bent three rims in my '15 IS350(I know...). Depending on your insurance, they would cover all less the deductible, but had one fixed at my lexus dealership with some kind of machine they have for around $200. Obviously depends on the severity of your rim though.

I would suggest looking around for a better wheel shop that can do this for you properly.

The edge can be fixed, but when it's bent like that, there's a high chance the wheel may be out of round and it won't be the same - that's probably why a reputable shop would not take on the job, it's asking for trouble when the customer keeps coming back to complain it's not fixed properly.

I think it can be fixed, shops around me charge about $100 a rim for fixing. I even had my LS430 chrome rim fixed. Is the rim powercoated or dipped? If its dipped it can be redone easy. Or even go the route like I did and autoflex the rims, cost about $110 for the cans and it will look as good as paint. You can probably find a replacement wheel for around 200-300.

If you look on ebay search for gs350 wheel oem 19, or look locally on craigslist around. There may be other sites online where you can get it. They look like 19 inch fsport wheels to me? Are the rims smooth in texture or do they feel "rubbery"? If they have a rubber feel they may be dipped you should be able to tell on the bent rim at the edge if it looks like a vinyl. Wouldn't be that hard to redo the color. If you do get something on ebay triple check with the seller that the rim is straight as well. I had bend several rims on my BMW with potholes and the crappy cast aftermarket wheels I had and had to replace them. Didn't bother trying to fix them, I know wheel repairs are more common now though.

LOL...."high school kid money doesn't come that easy"......yet you're driving a late model Lexus GS. Money must not be that hard to come by if you're able to afford a GS while in high school!
