Default The GS300 is discontinued for 2020

The fourth generation GS is slowly disappearing.

Good! That joke of a model needs to be gone, the GS needs more power not less.

To me, the real story here is that the GS350 lives on to see another year. Though I expect zero changes for MY 2020.

I'm surprised about the talk of axing the IS too. Not sure theres really a point in making a merged product like the TLX as I don't think that'd really boost sales. They really need to get ahead of the curb instead of lagging behind. The GS did well when it first came out and was ahead of the pack but the competition left them in the dust quickly after they all were remodeled. The point of smaller engines in other companies was to make the car more affordable but lexus is still pretty affordable compared to germans and going cheaper really goes into the ES price point so it defeats the purpose of the smaller engine.

They're trimming the GS lineup for sure - no GS300 for 2020 and there no GS hybrid for 2019. So that leaves us waiting for info on the GS350 and GS F.

Um, it says right here that the 350 and F will be in the 2020 lineup.

@jtrue28 Thank you - I was looking at ECL's post on truthaboutcars.com and missed that - I guess this is as good as official that the GS 350 and GS F remain for 2020. That 8-year cycle though...wowsers!

Dropping the base article does speak to a 2020 GS... But how about this email confirming it! Imagine my surprise when I saw the email subject (circled), only to open the email and see this BS, HAHA

I don't know why Lexus is making it hard for themselves and for us. Just make it simple.

2020 GS350 - 3.5L TTV6 from the LS
2020 GS F - 5.0L V8 (SC/TC/NA) I don't care

They already have these engines and all they gotta do is DROP 'EM! Do that and GS will sell like crazy. The LS is too heavy for the 3.5L TTV6, yes I can feel the power but it's less than I expected but it will be perfect for the super light weight GS.

Stop playing catch up with the Germans and now Koreans and SMOKE 'EM! It's not like Toyota doesn't have the resources to do it, they have all the money and resources in the world to make that happen today if they wanted to! lololol

I have only seen confirmation that the GS 300 is going to be removed from the line up for 2020. I think I saw a re design for the GS 350 is coming in 2020. As long as they keep the 350 that is good enough for me.

Where did you hear about a redesign?

I would definitely consider a GS350 with that TTV6 from the LS. that would be perfect power for daily driving and make it a nice competitor to the 540i. If they could make the GSF with similar HP to an M5 or even just a 550i I think they would have a nice winner there as well.

Definitely agree with this. They just need to drop that TTV6 engine in the GS 350 and a redesign and they could drop the GS F. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Any GS models below the 350 are pointless as someone else mentioned.
