Default Is This Seat Wear Normal? (2014 Luxury)

Car has luxury package with 18 way power seats and the black semi-analine leather with only 65,000Kms on it = 39,000 miles. I bought the car LCPO used a few months ago and didn't notice the wear at the time. I just noticed on the weekend when treating the seats with conditioner.
My last Lexus, a 2002 IS300 Sportcross with 315,000Kms - 190,000 miles didnt' have a hint of wear like this on the seats, only a few creases.

Anyone else have this kind of wear?
Think it would be covered under warranty?

The front drivers seat bolster leather is worn:

My 2013 has 73k on it, seats look *much* better.

They were dry when I bought it, though, and in need of Lexol love.

First time i'm seeing someone report that problem with the Lux semi-aniline seats. My '13 GS had 43k miles when I bought it and the driver seat showed similar signs of peeling and cracking (flaxen color). They refinished it since it was still under full factory warranty but not sure if it would be covered under the L/Certified warranty. Def. call them to see what they say...Here's a thread from a while back with the same issue faced by various members: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/aut...t-peeling.html

Ya, I'm surprised too..
Thanks for the link to that other thread. It's still under the full factory warranty.

I have a 2013 Lux pack in flaxen and mine shows similar wear. They wouldn't change it under factory warranty so I've just dealt with it. I'm at 80k now.

I think its just natural wear & tear of the softer leather. Ive been in 4GS's with the regular leather and its night & day. Hasn't really gotten worse but it is noticeable.

I have kept two GSs 13 and a 14 and both were a lot better at around 40k mark. This looks extra beaten up. Could be result of obese previous owner.

It should not be natural wear and tear for softer leather, many higher end cars have semi aniline leather and the leather does not have issues like that, I have semi aniline jackets and clothing that don't show wear/damage anything like that. That is not normal for a car that is only a few years old unless the previous owner was wearing something sharp that scraped the finish off.

I hope Lexus put quality leather that will last in a package you pay a lot extra for, if it is not lasting and is wearing like that they cheaped out and Lexus needs to pay to fix it. As long as you don't take it to the dealer it should be relatively inexpensive to fix, Leatherique makes color matching kits to fix the leather.

Mine is a '14 w/Lux Pkg thus analine. 43K miles, no obvious wear.

I have a 2013 luxury package with 61,000 miles and the seats look brand new. Every 10,000 miles I use leather conditioner on them.

I thought Semi-Aniline was supposed to be dyed through the entire material so that wear would not show a different color under the surface.
