I have similar wear on my 13 Lux on that side bolster. However, I have the tan color leather (can't remember the name for it right now), and the wear is less noticeable with my color. It doesn't really bother me, I'd prefer it not to be worn like that, of course, but I don't think about it much. I also bought the car used, so I'm not sure how the previous owner treated it, how often they cleaned it, etc. I'd ask the dealer about it, why not?

I'll bet the previous owner was a big dude or gal..I'll get it to the dealer in the next few weeks to see what they say about a warranty fix and will report back.
I think it's excessive wear for such few miles.

I believe only the center portion of the seat (the parts beneath your bum/legs and behind your back) are semi-aniline leather. The bolsters are Nuluxe...I think...

So dealer says "wear and tear" so no warranty. Think there's any other options to explore (in Canada) with Lexus? Think it's worth asking at another dealer?

I thought this as well. My mom has a 2014 RX Lux pkg with black Semi-Aniline and while her seats still look good the leather arm rest in the center looks terrible. The car only has 24k on it as well and the dealer said it was just normal wear and tear. Which is odd bc my wifes 2010 with regular ivory leather interior and 92k still looks brand new! Here are some pics of those two cars (First pic is the 2014 Black Semi-Analine, Second is the Ivory on my 2010 RX)

My NuLuxe in my GS however still looks fantastic.

My understanding is the trim such as doors, dash, console, etc. are done with NuLuxe or "pleather" rather than real leather. The real leather is on the seats. I would expect it to include the whole seating surface including the side bolsters, but it doesn't seem like we have full confirmation yet.

Wow, that armrest looks terrible. I can't believe that is considered normal wear and tear...leather or nuluxe.

I've seen chemical reaction on leather surface (specially dark color) when using wrong product.

That is why I don't use armor all on my leather seat.

I think it's how an each individual get in and out of the car. So for me it's an inconvenience and awkward but I make sure I'm not rubbing that side bolsters getting in and out the car
