Default Excessive wind noise from Sunroof repaired by dealer for free.

I recently got my car back from service and when i took the car in, i told my adviser how much wind noise comes in when the sun shade is retracted. They replaced the seal around the sunroof and adjusted the glass under warranty and now the car is extremely quiet with the shade open or closed.

Is your car a 2013 model? It's a common issue. I had mine repaired the same way.

I wish I had taken care of the excessive noise issue I was having while under warranty. It has developed into a obnoxious rattle over the smallest road imperfection. The dealer wants $700 just to disassemble the roof and diagnose the issue.

There is a TSB out on it. My friend who is a lexus tech told me to get it repaired as soon as i got the car because it will only get worse and is expensive to repair out of warranty. So i made up a bull**** excuse they performed the following TSB.

I wish I knew this before. The rattling is so bad. You can actually move the sunroof back and forth yourself with little effort.

I had a rattle which was coming from the sunroof for my 2013 GS350 non-Fsport. After the dealer adjusted it (but not replacing the seals) last year, the rattle went away but now I am starting to notice windnoise more and more even with the shade closed. Should I take it in while the car is still under warranty?

At what mileage did this noise start to occur?

I just crossed 20k on my '13 and have no issues yet.

Along these lines, any recommendation for the '14 models? I notice some wind noise on mine with the shade screen open, and noticed similar on other models I had test-driven. Since there's no TSB that I know of on the 2014....is it worth the hassle of getting it "fixed"?

It's not much of a hassle if you would just bring it up at your next due maintanence.. doesn't hurt. If they fix it, yay.. at worst they will just say it is normal.

Took my 14 GS for service and noisy sunroof during highway speed. The cause was a poor seal and they used part # 63251-30100.You should be under factory warranty so the charge should be free also.

This is a surprisingly long lasting annoying problem - I had the very same trouble in my former '10 GS 450h, and have exactly the same in my current '16 GS 450h.
"Pursuit of Perfection" and all that, so I don't understand why can't Lexus find a solution to this ongoing issue. I think this is embarrassing.
