Default F-sport spoiler - install help/tips required

Hi guys,
I've got an f-sport spoiler to install on my GS.

The templates I've seen are all for the non f-sport spoiler. Does Lexus make one for this one? Part #? Should i cut off the studs and just glue it?

I'm more of a mechanical guy (not autobody), so, the glue strip needs to be replaced - what should i use? I assume 3m something or another, any tips would be great.

Thanks!

You don't need to glue it. Assuming its the one I put on, I just test fitted it in the area I wanted. You use red 3m tape to secure it. I positioned it to where I wanted it, then I put tape on the edges next to the spoiler, and layered it up so it makes a slot. That way when I removed the spoiler from test fitting and try to put it back in place, I could put the top edges of the spoiler in the tape I layed up. You just put tape on the back of the spoiler and remove part of the backing and have it ready to peel when you lay it down. There should be tons of videos on youtube for spoiler installs, doesn't need to be specific to the lexus, other methods can apply. Hope that helps. It took me about 10 minutes to put mine on a few weeks ago.

Thanks.

This stuff
Amazon Amazon
?

Do you think i can cut off the studs, and this tape will hold it well? That is what is holding me back from marking it with tape, with the studs i have to get it in the right position. I guess i could always drill the holes alittle large to give it some play room, but... would prefer not to.

I assume i should clay-bar the trunk lid first so i know it is a very clean surface then alcohol wipe?

On my non-F sport spoiler, I dremelled-off the bolts and have it sitting with only the double sided tape. No problems with it after over a year.

It sounds like you don't want to drill into your trunk (neither did I). I saw others go the double-side tape route and was personally more comfortable with that. Just clean the area thoroughly before taping and be sure its nice and warm out (75+) to help with adhesion.

I just installed one a couple weeks ago, same as AJLex19 I cut the bolts off and only used the 2 sided tape. It is very solid, I can't see there being any problems in the future.
